A dog was found wet and visibly shivering at an industrial park along the Chelsea River in east Boston on Sunday, July 9.
Thankfully, the dog’s owner was found and the two were finally reunited.
The dog, a Chihuahua mix, was found without a collar or leash by a man named Brian Vazquez, who works at an industrial park.
talk to NBC Bostonsaid Vazquez. “It hurts to see a dog suffer like that.” he went on to say, “I would feel bad if someone abandoned him, I really do.”
Vazquez said he tried to comfort the dog, but the dog tried to bite him. “I had a little blanket. I tried to approach him and he tried to bite me.”
He added that the dog appeared to have injured one leg. “He was licking his leg. When he got up, one leg was in the air.” Vasquez remembered.

The dog was safely adopted by Animal Control. And on Tuesday, the Boston Department of Animal Care and Management posted an update on Facebook.
Animal Control said the dog was not abandoned and that its owner had been found. An animal control officer explained: “He ran away from the fenced-off area and went on the run. He was a much-loved family member and his people were very happy to have him back.”
They also mentioned the assumption that the dogs were abandoned and abandoned by their owners.they said the comment was “Very harmful and unnecessary.”
“Negative comments on found or lost pet posts do nothing to help reunite owners with lost pets. Rather, it makes it more difficult to reunite pets with their owners because owners fear they will be judged or get in trouble.” Animal care continued.
