Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden Zoo Access to all programs Designed to encourage families and individuals of all backgrounds to visit our world-class organization and build lifelong, multi-generational memories. We are committed to inspiring and believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience and cultivate a positive connection with wildlife and wild places.
For a total of 12 weeks this school year, Cincinnati Zoo educators have hosted Zoo Troop for All, an evening program for children ages 6-14 with developmental disabilities. Each program night was filled with laughter, animal encounters, storytelling, dancing, games, zoo hikes, and more!
This program would not have been possible without the support from Children’s Hospital Cincinnati and Dr. Jen Smith, Director of Leadership Education for the Neurodevelopmental and Related Disorders (LEND) Program. Each week, LEND volunteers serve as her one-on-one assistants to participating children, building great relationships and experiences together.
Our children and their families love this program and we really appreciate you taking the time to develop the programming to suit their needs. Cincinnati Children’s Chief of Staff Dr. Patti Manning Courtney actually came to volunteer last night and was very enthusiastic about the program and its impact on families!
We look forward to seeing all of our Zoo Troop for All attendees again this fall.
